What About Success ?

3 John 3:2   I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.

Success is many thing's to different folk's , but for most , it speaks of financial freedom.
I have always been intrigued by the myriad of books written on prosperity or the "blessing"
such as it is , in a Christian perspective. We are usually given steps. 5 steps to success , 4 steps to a better life and so on. They usually end up steps to nowhere. I have read more books than I can count. I love to read. They have value and one can learn much , But at the end of the day , most of us are still found lacking .
One guy told me the more he worked , the luckier he got.  That's one way to look at it I guess. We generally put our hopes in what the speaker is saying , and it keeps us coming back , but they are usually the ones getting wealthy from it. We finally conclude we are in this alone, and it must be worked out alone.

Seeking wisdom can wear you out, unless you use wisdom while seeking it . Bottom line : We must each seek Gods will
for our individual lives . His plan is uniquely different for each of us. What worked for Johnny, probably will not work for us. All folks cannot be rich and all cannot be poor , but what we all can be , is at peace and contentment with who we are , and where we are going. It revolves around one person, Jesus Christ ! As the old saying goes , wise men still seek him ! He has planned your life right down to the dollar . Go forth and prosper in your relationship with him, and everything else will fall in place.

God bless you on your journey !

Hab:3:2.......O Lord, Revive your work in the midst of the years....

A few years ago, I wrote and recorded a song titled [ If we ever need revival"We sure do need it today ]  I grew up in the 60,s and have memories of our mother taking us kids to tent revivals and church revivals as well. The power of the Holy Spirit literally permeated the services and when you
went home, you knew you experienced his presense. It seemed so common to me when I was a youngster, that I assumed it would always be that way .I remember teaching myself to play piano" and the ministers would be scolding me saying, I was playimg rock and roll music and they forbade it. Today They call it old fashioned now", and most churches doesn"t even want it played in their services. Man is constantly changing fads and music styles, but one thing will never change. The anointing of the Holy Spirit. My prayer is that before we go completly down as a nation, that God will revive his work in the midst of the years, and our young generation may experience a real outpouring of His Spirit. If we ever need revival, we sure do need it today.
God Bless!!

Bad Decisions = Bad Results

The mystery of iniquity is locked up in its devious ability, to give you temporary relief and permanent pain at the same time. We see this principle at work today in folks using pain killers to ease the pain , and getting addicted at the same time.  Another example is getting yourself into a bad marriage on a quick decision , based on sexual relief , and later regretting it , while the unwanted children are paying for it , and many times those around us have to suffer some kind of consequences as a result. Someone once told me: quote ; I can be forgiven for my bad decisions , and God will make everything alright . end quote: I told them , yes but if you make a girl pregnant,  no matter how much you are forgiven , the girl is still pregnant!  If any advice should be pounded in our thinking when we are young , it would be "Count the cost" before every decision big or little. One can build their life around that Principle , and succeed in most areas of their life ,whomever they may be regardless of a good or bad home life. If you find yourselves in these situations, make up your mind to count the cost. Its never to late to rebuild , but its a lot easier to just avoid it. Use your past decisions as a preference point and go forward in the Lords Leading and succeed !            Proverbs 3:6  In all thy ways acknowledge him .....
God bless you on your journey !

Working With Patience

My travels get interrupted frequently with break downs. Brand New trucks from the factory.
"Yes break downs" . It seems the computers in these new trucks are dictating when they want to give you a hard time. I am spending a lot of time in truck garages now a days. No matter, when these interruptions come we can make use of our time in some way . Read the word , answer some email  [ If we have a lap top or smart phone]  Or even pray .  I find when that angry spirit wants to rise up in me, the best thing to do is just submit to the circumstances when it's not in your power to change them, if it doesn't violate God's way's, and let God do his perfect work in you. There is always a reason for every thing. When you submit , a calmness settles on you and you will find something there that Your heavenly Father is working out in you.
God bless you on your journey !

James 1:2,3     P.S. Hurry up Ken worth garage and call me. I am tired of waiting !lol

The Call of The Dessert

Have you ever been in a dessert ? Some folks live there , but most of us live in more populated areas. Desserts have a reputation for making one thirsty . Athough that is true, theres a beauty about them that only certain people percieve I suppose.  I love driving through Arizona , Nevada and out by mojave desserts in California. Just beautiful. They are a neutral entity in themselves , But they can be your friend or your enemy. If your prepared with water and food, you can see the beauty. If your not , then you can see the devastating effects thereof. Our Heavenly Father has his own spiritual dessert for his children. When we start filling our time with to many things he likes to send us there to get thirsty for him. It can also serve as a school for our spiritual growth
and well being.  I have found that you can develope a craving for it. The serenity and the peace that it gives , if we take advantage of our time there. A time where its just me and the Father talking things out . If I ignore it, I become most miserable. When my dessert moment calls, I always get the same feeling : I feel like something is missing and I don,t  know what it is, But I will know it when I find it! If you find youself in that situation , it can be whatever you make of it. Draw nigh unto God , and he will draw nigh unto you .     God Bless!!

Phillipians 3:12 Not as though I had already attained, either were aready perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

" We Have good Hearing "

James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only , deceiving your own selves.

This scripture is begging to be obeyed ! Why ? It could be one of the most dangerous scriptures in
the bible ! What do we mean by dangerous ? The presentation of it is short, sweet, and to the point.
It resonates like a General giving a command , and our human nature doesn't quite fancy to someone giving us orders. Right off the cuff it gives us reason to get offended as if we never done anything wrong. So , what makes it so dangerous ? Some of the answer lies in our reasoning. We have a tendency to think that just because we went to church Sunday and heard the sermon, we've done our part. We can even get together for lunch with friends afterward and discuss how good it was , and then go back to business as usual. This is where the deception slips in. If we are not applying what was taught , [ providing it was the word of God ] then in some cases , we can be worse than we were.
Heres something to remember ! The word given us in that moment , is only good for that moment. Christ said, give us this day our daily bread. Tommorow we will need fresh bread to sustain us, therefore , yesterdays word may not be for the handling of todays problems.

God bless you on your journey!

Let It Go!

Let it go!  These words has been used in a variety of ways. Even from children we hear, let it go, its mine!  I was pondering on things that stop the flow of God in a persons life and Naman came to mind. We find him in the book of Esther , who was quickly promoted to be the kings right hand man. He had riches in abundance and power over princes , but he had one thing he wouldn't let go of , his hate for a Jewish man named Mordecai . As we read on Mordecai was promoted to leadership while Naman was hanged on a gallows he had made for Mordecai. I wonder at times if that's all that stands
between us and the greatest blessing we have ever known. Not letting go of one thing. It seems there's always that one thing in our life standing like goliath challenging us. If that's the issue in your life, May God grant you grace to  L.E.T. G.O.

Esther 5:13 Yet all this benefits me nothing as long as I see Mordecai , sitting at the kings gate!

God Bless you on your journey

" Timing Is Everything"

Proverbs 25:16  Hast thou found honey ? Eat so much as is sufficient for thee, lest thou be filled therewith and vomit it .

I want to say something that might startle some of us , but nevertheless it's the truth. We are being bombarded with scriptures, preaching , and spiritual things so much , that it is having little effect on folks as a whole. Sure , it is reaching a few , but why settle for a few , when there's a harvest out there?  Let me explain. You heard of too much of a good thing is not good for you ? That is what this scripture is actually saying.                                                                                                                                                      What makes anything valuable ? The answer is the rarity of it. If everyone in the world had a Cadilac, the value would go down quickly. The word of God is a precious pearl. Jesus taught that a man found one and sold all he had to purchase it . [ Matthew 13:46 ] We are throwing it around so carelessly that it's losing it's effect. Some folks are actually choking on it. It must have time to digest. Everything in the Kingdom of God has it's timing ! It's not how much of the word we hear , but rather , the right time to hear it. Thats when it will have its perfect work in our hearts.

God bless you on your journey !

My Life Is Broken: Now What ?

Romans 8:28 .... all things work together for good to them that love God ......

To tell someone God fixes broken lives is all  Well and good , but what if it's your life that's broken ? It's a very serious issue that needs not only answer's , but practical answers you can sink your teeth into.
If you are a believer in Christianity , it can make it easier , but not necessarily better. First and foremost , you must , I repeat "must" believe that God is in total control of all happening's on this planet , and that he has a plan for your life. If one cannot get beyond that , all the rest of their life will be lived out in hit and miss , resulting in confusion , no matter how much teaching or counseling they receive.
Realistically speaking , the catalyst of life , revolves around breaking and mending.  No difference how low one has sunk in this life , God has a way of incorporating the broken pieces of a life
into his wonderful plan . The negative part of brokenness is that it blinds you for a season. Any answer given during that season cannot be utilized until the grieving is over. As one develops their trust in the fact , that God truly is in control and does have a plan for their life , they will start seeing him at work.

See God in everything and you can make it through anything !
God bless you on your journey !

Being Led By A Groundhog

#Romans 8:14.... For those who are led by the Spirit are the children of God.  NIV

Meet #Punxutawney Phil , at least one of them. The first groundhog day in Punxutawney Penn. was around 1886. So ole Phil has had some replacement's. Every year the town of Punxutawney Pa. meet's and has a festival with food , drink etc. and bring's ole Phil out to predict the weather. He's been on TV and celebrated in US and Canada for sometime now, so he can't be wrong can he ? As I was driving through PA the other day, I saw his billboard and got a chuckle out of it thinking how we Christian's are like ole Phil. Sometimes in life we get it right and sometimes we don't. The word say's those who are led by the Spirit [ Holy Spirit] are the children of God , but in all the confusion and scurry of life , we can get "out of the Spirit' and find ourselves wandering around in a lost dessert as it were. The key to this life thing , Proverbs 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence, for out it are the issues of life. As hard as it sometimes is, we need to guard our heart's so we can truly be led by the Spirit, and hit the mark.
God bless you on your journey !

Is God Pleased With Name Calling ?

John 12:32...and I, if I be lifted up, will draw all men unto me...

Once again I find myself tackling a controversial subject. I don't know how many time's I heard this debated , but as for me , the answer is an emphatically no.  It is wrong to say your exposing denomination's , Preacher's etc. especially on television with a broad audience. In the first place the person doing it , is not the Holy Spirit . Jesus said ...if I be lifted up... meant  more than the cross.  He meant if his name was lifted up , for there is "no other name" that men can be saved !  When another so called preacher has to call name's and judge his fellow man , they are doing so out of  a spirit of fear and jealousy . Fearful that their follower's might give money to the person their judging or jealous because they are ! Their kingdom's and life of luxury , is threatened by those they feel are more successful . You would have to admit , it would probably be difficult giving up their big building complexes with their name's on it , and the best of both world's , to get out and work a job , like you have to do , not to mention the pride involved . In conclusion , "what would Jesus Do" ? He never told us to call fire down , for when his follower's tried to , he told them , they didn't know what spirit they were of !  His answer is let the tare's grow with the wheat , until the time of harvest ! Matt.13:30...    May God's love flow freely in all men !

God bless you on your journey !

The Open Series Part 2

Numbers 22:28... and the Lord opened the mouth of the ass , and she said unto Ba-laam .....

Now Ba-laam was a prophet in Israel that a Moabite King called upon to curse Israel.
Ba-laam was heading out to meet with him and God sent an Angel to stand with a sword in front of the donkey , to prevent Ba-laam. Ba-laam  did not see the angel and began beating her , to get her to move.  God opened the donkeys  mouth and she [Donkey] asked ba-laam:  Why are you beating me ? As we read the story we find the donkey actually saved the foolish prophets life.
I remember as kids my Grandfather lived on a little farm and always had a Pony and Donkey.  My older brother and I would spend our summers putting up hay and riding the animals.  I was always stuck the Donkey.  When I would get her into a good gallop she would stubbornly stop quick ,  and I would go flying through the air.  I would get so mad I would switch her.  Well, we humans can get about as stubborn , and sometimes worse at times. There's nothing worse than a person rebelling against the God , when he wants to use them to talk to someone , sing a song ,  preach a message  or even use them to help someone , and they just will not listen. The next time God deals with us to open our mouth  , let us we obey him , so he will not have to use uncouth means to get it done.

God bless you on your journey!

Whats In A Heart ?

Ever think you finally got it together and out of nowhere you just lose it ? Its amazing what we can find in our heart when the pressure is turned up. There's a story in the bible about a fellow that probably hadn't known he was going to take another's life until the pressure was on. Exodus 2:11......and he spied an Egyptian smiting an Hebrew, one of his brethren. Moses had been living pretty good in the palace except for one thing. He was probably feeling guilty for having it so good, while his people were in hard slavery. One day he walked upon one of his people getting whipped and the guilt and anger took over. Before he knew it he had killed the guy beating the Hebrew. I doubt he had thought that was in his heart until the pressure got to much. We can find things we wouldn't believe in our own hearts as well , given enough pressure. A quick snap at a child or close friend can be very regretful later .If enough pressure is applied we can even charge God foolishly. Thank God for his mercy and understanding. He is probably the one who sends the pressure most of the time so we can get things fixed. Ephesians 2:4..But God, who is rich in mercy..... I found in these times its best to get alone and meditate. Even when it hurts to much to pray. God is working on our situation to heal our situation.

God bless you richly in his mercy!!

The Mystery Of A Secret

Judges 16:18....and Delilah saw , that he told her all his heart...

Secrets can be used to test our character . Once they leave our presence , we failed the test. I remember when growing up as children , the fun we had  telling or hearing secrets. For some reason , children seem to have a fascination about that. Remember saying, " secret , secret"  I know a secret with a singing in your voice? I think today there are to many Ipod's , Games , etc. for that now. Almost everyone has heard the story of Sampson. God had a covenant with him, that he wasn't to have his hair cut. The secret of his strength lied in that. Short story of that, is he told Delilah, she put him asleep , cut his hair, sold his secret to his enemies, and he was captured. I have seen some times in my life, when I told too much and it cost me a Job or some other issues  was effected by it. Always keep an element of mystery about yourself. Ever notice Great people who accomplish Great things have a certain mystic about themselves? When some folk know all there is to know about you, they want  to leave the stage as it were. Remember, you are unique and the element of mystery will only add to your Uniqueness !
A foolish person talked to much, and lost his case:  A wise man came and took his place!
A Secret is a Gem to him who has it!!

Keeping In The Race

1 Corinthians 9:24.. Know ye not that they which run in a race run all , but one receiveth the prize ? So run , that ye may obtain.

As I was meditating on the scripture above ,  I was thinking about the race for the prize of the high calling for every believer. The obstacles and stumbling blocks we face in our Generation , are just phenomenal. The pain in the world today is just overwhelming . It's going to take God intervening to even make a start where to begin. The law of sowing and reaping is running it's course and its snowballing rapidly. Thought's of families splitting , Job losses , Children needing parents that's not going to be coming home . How do you tell or explain to a child , the adulteress affair that conceived them , is why Mommy or Daddy won't be around ? It would only stir the sordid mess up even worse.
Yet people are confronted with these type of issues daily. The scoffers and judge mental folks would tell us , the disciples and early church , lived above these issues. [ Only when it's them, it's different.] All of that sounds Holy and good , but times are just different now. Eccl.3:1 To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose... We are dealing with different Evil's , being hit with an onslaught by hell unprecedented , living in the end times. Satan knows his time is short and working over time. It's hard enough to just stay in the race, much less win it , and yet The word tells us to keep running. Well the good news is the Word say's he will never leave nor forsake us. Heb.13:5  If we grasp that and all his other promises we can not only stay in the race , but we can win it. In all the years I have been in or around other believer's I have never heard a report that God fails. He has not fallen from the throne , but is in total control of the world affairs and we shall obtain the Prize of eternal life . Keep running the race my friends , we are almost home.
God bless you on your journey !

When Wrong Prospers

Psalms 1:3….and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper  KJV

I wanted to comment on this part of the scripture today. Perhaps we can see something we haven’t really thought about before or at least a reminder. Assuming you are a believer in the word , have you ever coasted along in life and perhaps got sidetracked and noticed that things were going wrong that shouldn’t be ? Yes, we believers, believe that Satan attacks us and he does, but I am talking about another train of thought. The Lord has said if we are living according to Psalms 1: 1,2,3 that Whatsoever we do shall prosper. We tend to think of the good only , but  possibly we are slipping back from what “we know we should do” but we are not doing it and it could be prospering , and once that ball starts rolling , it can accumulate fast ! Keeping that Whatsoever in mind ! Next time things that are prospering in your life that shouldn’t be , take a look at it. It may not be an attack from the Enemy at all, but rather an area that we need to fix in our life.

God Bless you on your journey
